We’re not just another corporate video production company, we like to do things a little differently. This is what you can expect from us…

1. Questions.

To be effective it is important for us to understand your business, as well as your requirements and expectations for the corporate film. So, we will ask you lots of questions. Who is the target audience? What is the key message? Where will it be shown? What do you want viewers to do or feel after the film? How will you measure its success? Are there examples of films you like or dislike, from any sector? How involved do you want to be in the process? In order to give you the best possible film to meet your goals, we do not shy away from asking challenging questions.

2. Enjoyment.

We try to make the production process an enjoyable, rather than stressful, experience. We realise we might be working with people who have never had to commission a film or be in front of camera before, so we go out of our way to help you through the project and make you feel at ease. We are often told: “it was actually fun to be part of”, “you made it enjoyable”, “it was much easier was than I thought it was going to be”, and “it wasn’t so daunting”.

3. Passion.

Quite simply, we love what we do! We care passionately about the films that we create, and endeavour to ensure that you love them too.

4. Effectiveness.

With all the talk of passion and fun, we must stress we know that a corporate film has to deliver results. You are making a film for a purpose, and you want a return on your investment. Perhaps it is a film to encourage viewers to buy a product online, request more information, or make an appointment. Maybe the film is to increase brand awareness, or outline the different services your company offers. The fact that so much of our work is repeat business shows that our clients find our films effective and deliver results.

5. Creativity

After working out what you want to achieve, we develop ideas and concepts for your film from scratch to achieve a perfectly tailored solution – no generic templates here! We like to push boundaries and challenge the norm to create something unique and fresh, whether it be by using an unexpected piece of music, motion graphics or mixing up techniques such as slow motion or time-lapse. There is always a new way of looking at the subject or portraying an idea. That said, we don’t do flashy things for the sake of it. There has to be a good reason for that epic slow-mo sequence.

6. Experience

We have been making corporate films for nearly 10 years, across many different sectors, ranging from pharmaceuticals and medical to heavy engineering and manufacturing. However, our experience in terms of telling stories and making programmes goes back a lot further than that. The key members of the Definition Media team have a vast experience working in the television industry making documentary films. We carry those high production values through into our corporate work. The principle is the same for a 2 minute corporate film as it is for a 1 hour documentary – it’s about story telling and we like to think we’re pretty good at it.

7. Variety

Some companies work exclusively in one sector, such as education or hospitality, claiming their specialism is an advantage. We are not so sure about that. Our speciality is making effective films. The creative and technical skills required don’t change from industry to industry or sector to sector. We have made a conscious decision not to focus in just one area, as there is a danger that the process could become very formulaic, and everything might start to look pretty similar. We believe working in a variety of sectors and industries keeps us, and the films we make, fresh. It allows cross-pollination of ideas, styles and techniques which keeps us on our toes, and is ultimately beneficial to you.

8. Resourcefulness

Sometimes we are given some unusual briefs that really test our resourcefulness. One project involved finding an actor to play a fifty year old skateboarding businessman, an airline check-in desk, and a generic (unbranded) airhostess uniform. It was beyond the budget to film in an airport so we found a large green screen studio and used CGI to model and animate the airport background. Fear not, we are quite used to sourcing actors and presenters, finding locations, sourcing props and costumes, however curious they are!

9. Reliability

Our clients will happily confirm that we can be trusted to deliver films on time and on budget. Whether it is creating a film to play at a product launch, or DVDs to distribute at a trade show, we understand that deadlines are deadlines and we go out of our way in order to meet them.

If our approach (and the quality of our films, of course) appeal then please call. We would love the opportunity to talk to you about your ideas for using video in your business.
